Why The Jumpsuit Is A Wardrobe Staple Of Mine

Discovering a dress is actually a jumpsuit

The sun has arrived, I’m wrapping up my last few weeks of university and then I’ll be jetting off for a week in Crete. There’s only one type of clothing that can see me through all the coming weeks…the trusty jumpsuit. It seems as though the shops have twigged on that use girls love our jumpsuits and playsuits, they can be dressed up or down and can even work in the office. I’ve been spending the past couple of weeks searching for the perfect holiday playsuit and with so many available it’s slightly overwhelming.

For me, the only thing better than a jumpsuit is a jumpsuit with pockets. I’m all about comfort while staying stylish and jumpsuits without a doubt offer that…as long as you don’t mind peeing while half naked.
[/pipdig_left] [pipdig_right] Items that can be worn for just about any occasion always find a special home in my wardrobe. Another example of this are my Farleigh Jeans. I just love to get my money’s worth out of my clothing since I have started to invest in slightly more pricey items and slowly replacing Primark items with items from New Look, Asos, Misguided and Topshop…with the exception of basics which you can’t beat from Primark.

At the park

Paired with sandals, trainers or ballet flats a jumpsuit is a perfect outfit to wear to the park. They’re often quite lose fitted around the crotch and legs allowing lots of room for walking…plus the possibility of rolling the legs up to attempt to tan in the British sun. It’s a bit cooler out you can easily layer it with a loose jumper, denim jacket or leather jacket. When it comes to layering the possibilities are endless especially useful when you think about how unpredictable the weather can be.

The only downside to wearing a jumpsuit to the park is if you have to use the public bathrooms, they’re never the cleanest and you’ve got to worry about not letting the fabric from the top half fall in the toilet or brush on the floor out of fear. I know I’d rather hold my pee than attempt to use public toilets where possible…but this isn’t always possible so that’s something to bear in mind.

At the event

I’m sure I’m not the only one that freaks out when an event has a formal dress code…I mean what does formal even mean nowadays? My mind immediately goes to evening gowns that make me look a feel like a princess but 9 out of 10 times I go against these thoughts and instead go for something slightly more understated…that’s when the jumpsuit comes in. Paired with a pair of cracking heels, the right accessories and you’re ready to shine. Plus the likelihood of being overdressed or underdressed is significantly reduced…let’s not also forget no longer having to worry if you’re dress is going to blow up in the wind or get caught in the tube door.

SHOP THE OUTFIT

Offices are hot sticky places in the summer since the UK doesn’t seem to have any sort of AC. Therefore a jumpsuit is the perfect item of clothing cause they can be layered, and pair with a blazer and court heels will look perfect in the office. For me wearing a jumpsuit is often just as comfortable as wearing PJs, which obviously if you’re sitting around for 8 hours a day you want to be at the maximum comfort level. Plus a jumpsuit is a complete outfit, you can literally roll out of bed and just pop it on and go, leaving more time to hit snooze on your alarm…and as someone that hates mornings that is perfect for me.
