Red goes with everything and red goes with nothing.
I’m not someone that has an awful lot of colour in their wardrobe, I tend to stick with neutrals and monochrome…but I’ve always loved red. Despite being a redhead and society saying that red clashes with red hair…I’ve always been told I look great in red. Although it doesn’t matter what other people think…I feel amazing when I wear red. It’s such a power colour and for someone that used to hide in the shadows, I now love to stand out from the crowd.
Taylor Swift once said “Red is such an interesting color to correlate with emotion, because it’s on both ends of the spectrum. On one end you have happiness, falling in love, infatuation with someone, passion, all that. On the other end, you’ve got obsession, jealousy, danger, fear, anger and frustration. ” It’s true, red can represent so many different things…but who doesn’t want to match the beautiful red roses or Smirnoff lid if that’s more your cup of tea.
Last summer I was obsessed with white dresses, in fact they were my summer essential…but it seems like instead of living in fear of getting pasta sauce or red wine down me. I’ve chosen to match them.
It was a hot Sunday when I picked up this particular dress. I’d not long been at the Southsea Food Festival and I’d underestimated the weather. Cue a panic trip into New Look to hunt through the sales for something to change into. This Red Sheered Jersey Milkmaid style dress instantly caught my attention…I just had to have it. Plus it was only £8!
I instantly changed into it and felt 100% cooler and more comfortable than the original jeans and a t-shirt I was wearing…plus it’s perfect for hiding that food baby I acquired from eating great Thai food, half a cheese toasty and half a pizza. While I absolutely adore the red colour…I am tempted to go back and order it in white, black and yellow. It’s honestly that comfortable!
